I love this sad verse. I think everyone who has ever taken the risk to love can identify with this. If we are very very lucky we find the one who is true and stays.

This reminds me of The Song of Nimrodel from The Fellowship. Was that the goal...? Because her love left on a ship and left her alone too. (Sorta)

Very well done though, whatever it was written based off of.

Author's Response: Actually, no it wasn't, but I did notice that once I posted it. I just felt abandoned at that point in time and it came out of that. Thanks for the review!

Stunningly plaintive anaphora and choice of words. You captured a lot in three short free-verse stanzas. Personally, I'm partial to reading free verse. Very vivid images created in the reader's mind.
