Could this have something to do with Eowyn's marriage to Faramir? She is now wearing the diamond bracelets and necklace befitting the dignity of a Princess of Ithilien, but now her status as Shield-Maiden of Rohan is no more. Does she still pine for Aragorn, hence her sorrow? Hmmm.
