this book is amazing and I found it when I was searching for books with Puppies or dogs as the main characters because I wanted to make a book with a dog in the fellowship. I found this and read it all the way through, without stopping! It's really good!!

There’s no sweeter picture in my mind than of Pippin feeding little Faramir. :)

Yum!! Stuffing’s my favorite! Trust Pippin to have excellent taste.

Oh man, the breaking point on the dwarves’ confidence in Thror has finally been reached… I think Thror’s taking it pretty well, actually… You’ve done a good job illustrating the tension among the dwarves and the reluctance of Thorin to take on the responsibility and Thror’s refusal to give up his place.

Aw, Nelly doesn’t take the house?? Didn’t see it coming!

Such an adorable picture of Sam reading to Elanor! It runs close to Pippin and Faramir.

I am glad to return to Shelob’s lair! I was a long time anxious! Gollum is such a cowardly, two-faced creature… selling them out to Shelob one minute, helping them the next. I like the little moment where he inches his hand toward Pilith’s blade. Your Gollum’s spot-on! I’m kind of sad that they are parting.

Poor Mya! At least she can’t remember being trapped in a cocoon of web. She’d be having nightmares for centuries!

I am so relieved to see Gandalf! “How did you escape” – he really wastes no time on pleasantries!

You’ve heard me gush about these two chapters before, but now I can again with more words! :P

The most dramatic element for me was the break between Thorin and his grandfather. It exemplifies somewhat the stubbornness of dwarves, but also illustrates just how much the loss of his kingdom has worn Thror down.

Poor Ori! It is not fun to be sick, especially when there’s playing to be done and turkey to be eaten.

I do like how things are coming together: Nelly may yet get a new house, and need not even wait for spring to move in. But what will she decide…?

The continuing battle between siblings seems to have Frodo up a point. “Smellienor” is hard to combat!

I feel better aboug Mya, Ori and Ivy crossing the mountains if the twins will be tracking them. It still sounds like adventure waiting to happen. Hopefully they won’t be too much for the twins to handle.

Kinda saw Gollum’s betrayal coming; old habits die hard.

I’m freaking out for Mya with all the spiders crawling through her fur. Blugh. How can they escape?? Can only hope Shelob finds puppies unappetizing…

Here’s one giant long review cuz I didn’t want to take a break between chapters. :)

Dis is quite the rebel, wondering off after her brothers.
Yesyesyesyes, Pippin and Diamond back together???!!! I hope Pippin has changed; it shouldn’t take much more to make her happy, just a bit of discipline…

Spiders!!! Dis is a tough dwarf-lass. I should expect no less from a sister of Thorin, of course. I guess it is a shame that Thorin was not with the other dwarves in The Hobbit when they were captured by the spiders; they could have used his experience. But then, Bilbo would not have had the chance to prove himself.
Pippin, Pippin, Pippin, why can’t he help himself? He’s come so far, he can’t mess it up now. Though I understand, it is so difficult to break old habits.
I like this small sweet snippet of baby Arwen!
So, even Legolas can get sick of Lembas! But if Gimli can, that would be something. :P

Annoyed Dwarves with axes + hungry giant spiders = mess.
Aw, poor Pippin must eat at the Green Dragon or die of hunger. Diamond’s power is strong. Her careful reeling of Pippin in is wise, I think, since he has not been well behaved at all. I just hope she does not go overboard and frighten him away again.
Rosie is a super-hobbitess, that she can find time to work at the Green Dragon. No, I don’t think she could do it for much longer!
I feel bad, but I did have to laugh at the torment of little ponytailed Pip.
Bath for Ori??? Nooooo.
I like how much you put into Pippin’s struggle with the ale and pipe. Things are so much harder to get over than you think.

Great, we pick up with Jorga again! She’s busy and happy; that’s good.
Cool! The wave dream!!! That’s pretty awesome that Pimpernel would have that… there must be some significance there, or I’m reading too much into it… :)

Wha? Pippin eat just milk and cookies. Babysteps! He may defeat the ale yet!

I love that after narrowly escaping becoming Gollum’s lunch, Pillith and Mya are going to tag along with him. Curious how all Gollum’s companions start as prospective meals. :)

Pippin??? “come to see what Diamond wanted”??? Can this be??? At least he has the sense to go to Merry’s to smoke. (Diamond shouldn’t object to that much; it’s Merry’s place that’ll smell now…) I’m glad that he was honest to her about it. Better if they stayed open to each other, and perhaps she could in some way help him get over his addictions…

Aw, Dolly! She’s been with us so long! She had a Great Journey! Not all Hobbitesses can boast of that. I’m going to miss her a lot. I’m sure all the Shire will; she was there for many of their first breaths.

Whew, the Dwarves made it across the river. Now just a few more rivers and a smattering of mountains, and they’ll get to their new home. I’m sure it’ll be even more complicated than that. ;)

Hehe, so many daughters for Paladin. Not sure if Pippin fulfilled all his expectations… but you take what you get. I enjoyed the scene with Pearl and her mother!

I love this line: “Faramir did not like being woken up and he told his mother about it.”
I can see why Thorin was more than motivated to retake the Mountain!
News travels faster in Hobbiton than even the time it takes to finish a meal! But that is so hard on Diamond and Pippin; they owe Dolly a lot. I will guess that the next few days are going to be busy ones.

Poor hungry Bilbo, trying to escape the wolves! This makes me think it’s about time to reread the Hobbit (I’ve got until December, at least…)

Ohhh, so Smaug hypnotized dwarves to find treasure. I had wondered forever how he got it all, and that is so simple and obvious. Awesome! Still sad. :(

I just love that you’re doing the exiled dwarves’ story from Dis’ eyes. Your additions give it more depth: their mother being lost in the Mountain and giving Frerin a personality.

The callousness of the trolls makes me shiver!

Oh my, I remember when being awake and active at 11-oclock was a Huge Thing. But will they make it to 11, that’s the question…

Legolas and Gimli!!!!! Off adventurin’! Best of starts!

These little moments between Rosie and Sam are the cutest.
And I imagine that with all their children they are Hobbiton’s foremost experts on stomach bugs. Poor Frodo! That’s one thing I do not miss about childhood.

Dolly needs an apprentice? Yes, I’ll say! She deserves a retirement in the near future!

I love the tingle of excitement in Elanor at a new snowfall. That never gets old.

“Without thinking about it, he placed it in his pocket and went on without a problem.” – Teehee…

And would Sam tell his children about oliphaunts at every spare moment? Of course!

And seriously, Frodo, that is what only a Hobbit would do (and a few humans, ahem), eating themselves back to illness… Hah, Elanor had a close shave with her backfired plan. How then would she be able to finish her escape from the Orcs with Gloria and the Horses? :)

Ohh, Diamond become a midwife? I think she has the right personality – patient and perseverient.

Sorry I don’t get around to reading too quickly. Life’s been busy, but this is, as always, a nice respite from it! *three heaping, steaming bowel of turkey for Origo*

Author's Response: hehe... elanor just wanted more food... she is a hobbit after all... and yes, Diamond is thinking about becoming a midwife :) and maybe more ;)

Jorga is still getting used to her new life. Doing all that laundry sounds like a daunting task! I can hardly get myself to throw my bedclothes into the washer.

Ah, I see. So if Daisy knows the Gamgees’ secret, then effectively the whole world knows. :)

“Origo and Abira were cuddled up on Pimpernel’s pillow.” – And my heart melts as well…

Again, I am loving how you dig deeper into each dwarf’s personality, such as the distrusting’ness of Dwalin! That is cute Bilbo was not so much a tad dizzy, while the dwarves were mortified of the bridge. Fodder for the Elves to sing about! Oh dear! SO MUCH EATING. A great way to spend two weeks after hiking in the wilderness.

That was an excellent, sharp contrast to the next scene of Mya and Pilith in Mordor. They dying of thirst, while Bilbo and the Dwarves seem in danger of dying of eating!

Pimpernel of the Abire’less universe is a sad sight against the other Pimpernel. :(

Hehe, even if only in a parallel universe, mixing up Origo and Abira was bound to happen at some point!

Oh man, the Misty Mountain chapters have always been my favorite since I was little! Not that I’d want to be lost in Goblin caves, but the idea is still cool.

Sorry it took me a while to write down my thoughts. I’ve been chipping away at reading this all week. I look forward to the next day! ^_^

Lovely, but poignant descriptions of the crumbling Imladris – the eroding of the rivers, the deepening of the valley, all the harsh changes of mortal world.

Always getting into trouble, Origo…
That was not expected! I can’t imagine any better place to break a leg than Imladris. However, this is going to mess up their plans big time… Poor Origo must feel terrible! :(

Ohhhhh, the girls and the puppies can feel what the other feels…!

On the topic of cleaning, I’m still on Diamond’s side. OTHER people may not see the mess, but I can guarantee there is a mess.

Oh man, a tipsy Pearl. :P

Elnan made it!!! It’s kind of a mission impossible: Aragorn sent him on an errand to the Shire, but the same Aragorn forbade all Big Folk from entering the Shire. :)

It’s exciting that Faramir is developing a personality! And we get to see him grow further, I assume. :)

More Tooks behaving badly. Paladin! But he did have good reason to distrust big folk of every kind. He was quite the rebel during the Scouring.

And fairy wars sounds like a dirty, dirty thing. I wouldn’t mess with them, though I be twenty times their size…

How to reply to Aragorn? What will Ivy and Mya decide is the best course to take? Shall the twins have a little brother or sister? (feel like I should know that one, though… :P)

Author's Response: Ivy is much smaller the twenty times, she's only 3 inches tall.. big enough for a little puppy to try and catch :P

I just had company over and for the first time in foreeever made food for other people. Forgot I like to cook… and it put me in the most hobbity of moods… so I HAD to read this now, though it be 1:00 am.

At least Radagast has a heads-up now.

Yes, Pip, stay forever! Diamond is ready, she just doesn’t know it yet…

Gruesome, heinous, evil trolls… turning to stone was too good for them!

Haha. What horrors await Elnan in the Shire, indeed? (Actually, the appetites would freak me out…) Aragorn == Strider… such a small world. :)

Awwww, Tom needs his armchair.

I’m loving your portrayal of Radagast: not some bumbling, unwashed bird-lover, but rather, confident, in charge, and very much ready to use his staff. And best of all, willing to argue with a huge alpha male wolf!
I was going to say, traveling over the Misty Mountains in the dead of winter is not the most excellent of plans. But you do what you got to do…

Hey, yeah, I’d stay in Rivendell… They deserve a break! :)

Tell Origo I love him and will be sending him 25 packets of turkey, or whatever fits into the box.

Author's Response: I think origo has forgiven you, as long as its honey roasted turkey :P I've always though Radagast was a quiet wizard, a bit like Tom, but more powerful..

I am with Rosie in loving how caring Sam is.

“To pick on Elanor and to throw snowballs at her” !!! Frodo, you should know your mother better than that… (But really, I do like his sense of humor – and he’s the epitome of all my younger brothers combined.)

Pilith versus the bunnies! Epic! :D

Ah, there really is no way Sam can say no to Elanor’s adventurous urges. I like his wise reply – just because she must be in time for meals, doesn’t mean she can’t explore!

I am fond of this line -- “Colourful bullfinches that looked like something a hobbit would have thought up and coloured in with pastels.”

Oh no! The dark fairies are stirred again… all because Ivy wanted to have some fun. I see a common thread in this story: trouble can come of exploring (Frodo lad and Pilith being examples…). That is very much a hobbity theme! :)

I’m enjoying how you’re delving into the dwarves’ personalities! It gives The Hobbit an extra dimension. It’s timely that you have Mya, Ivy and Origo retracing the steps of Thorin and company. :)

Eek! Spending the night in the troll cave. Not my first choice, but I bet it’s better than a tree root!

Author's Response: I wrote the dwarves when their pictures came out :P

Aww! Sam knows just what Rosie likes. She’s going to need another two stoves, though, before long!

Ach, those crows again! I never appreciated before just how much Mya and Origo have come to depend on her. Better find them quick or they won’t last long!

It is dawning on me why Pilith and Mya chose to guard hobbits. Their appetites very closely match. Pilith’s attitude tells it all: Mordor is nothing as long as there’s food!

What, Jorga’s never played in the snow! Too bad the first time had to be so disturbing: that was awful for the boys to say. And they surely wouldn’t say it in front of Barliman… Being the proprietor of the Pony is tough work! Everyday must toss out all these arguing drunks… heh, Jorga better train up if she’s to take over someday. :)

Poor Horsie, feeling left out! :( Elanor does not mean to!

Aha! Marigold likes Tom! I think it’s hilarious that a train of girls follows him around... I wonder if he’s noticed yet… ;)

We get to follow Freda and Eothain?! They must be a tad older now than in Two Towers, but still, fun! By the way, Eothain is showing up as “…othain” in the chapter, in case you want to fix it. I guess it is not reading the accent mark on ‘E.’ :/

Wheh! That’s a relief! Ivy found them and they’re none the worse for wear.

All these chapters made for an entertaining weekend – gave me something fun to do when I needed a break from homework! ^_^

Author's Response: ah, thanks for the heads up kitt :) shall change it now :)

I agree with Pippin here – I can’t think of a better way to start the day than to go on a walk and chat with an Entwife. ;)

“ He had had a very deep and revealing conversation with a tree.” – That Is An Awesome Sentence.

Why, Fimbrethil! I sense she has a wee bit of resentment toward Treebeard…

I must chuckle at Eglantine’s motherly instincts; but I guess Pippin really does need a lot of looking after! :)

Can this really be so??? After three-thousand years walking Middle-earth together, Elladan and Elrohir disagree???!!! And what shall they finally decide…?

““How lucky am I?” he asked himself. “ --- Awww! You’re very right, Sam! Luckiest of hobbits!

Yay! Elanor’s kitchen training has begun!

I guess it is of no use to argue with Wizards, as a certain hobbit discovered long ago. ;)

Author's Response: Fimbrethil doesnt like the fact that Treebeard hasnt found her yet, for she told him where she was going...

Oh no! The dark fairies return and they’ve nothing edible to offer them…! I’ve such an urge to thwack the leader with a flyswatter. Too bad Ivy is much to small to life one… :P More seriously, this is so sad. Poor Ivy!!!

I like that mental list of Diamond’s: very wise! And Pip’s the sense to show her the new him, in open or not. Love the scene when he is telling his little son just how much he loves his mother. :)

Aw, Origo’s finally coming to like Mya once again. It’s so heartbreaking for Mya. All the centuries she spent with Pilith and now he is lost somewhere inside a puppy…

So happy that the girl has more confidence – and a name at last! Jorga is very pretty.

Love Mya’s inquisitiveness… heh, and yet Pilith scares every living thing away.

I approve of Legolas’ wet method of waking Gimli. ;)

I think you do a good job of transitioning between all these different plotlines, especially the multiple nonlinear ones of Mya and Pilith: in Mordor, at Tom’s, with Gandalf, and finally in the present. I’ve not been lost yet! :)

Author's Response: Thank you :) i know, the plotlines doesnt make sence but then, it does haha...

Bleh, crows! Always nothing but trouble…

I’d also be fuming angry at Tom and Goldberry… Tom has much more explaining to do!

Leave it to Mya to find a way to escape! They are the most appropriate duo for spying on Sauron because I’ve always thought that Sauron must have an intense fear of dogs ever since Huan beat him up back in the First Age… And there’s something just awesome about two puppies sneaking around the depths of Barad-dur; who’d have thought two beings that intensely cute could ever be found there?

Aw, Tom! He gave them food but spared them the trip back… it’s sad that Pilith is feeling so raw toward him. I wonder if he ever mends their friendship…?

Ah, I’m glad they did end up going back to Tom’s house! I hated the thought that their friendship with Tom and Goldberry could be broken beyond repair. Oo! A mysterious meeting with Gandalf! This is getting more and more intriguing…

Legolas trying to fall asleep – THAT IS SO CUTE!!! That deserves to be expanded into its own full fanfic; could I pleeease? :)

Hamson brought Nelly back… and scaring poor Pearl out of her wits while at it… I’m dying to know what will happen with those two now! :)

Author's Response: of course you can make a finfic of legolas trying to fall asleep :)

I admire the fortitude of the courier from Gondor. The journey to the Shire is not short one!

I have to chuckle at Sam’s curiosity over Elanor’s story. I hope he will not always need to sneak looks and that Elanor someday shares it… heh, the irony would be too great if he ‘stole’ her book as she did the Red book.

Ah, Frodo! Always up to no good! Rosie’s mothering skills are admirable. Talk with his sister?!! I can imagine why he might baulk at the idea… It would have killed my brothers. I’m intensely curious to find out if it works and if Elanor will agree to a muffin-making social.

Ivy’s skydive was awesome. Never would have done that myself… but I love a daredevil fairy. ;)

Hmm, so Hamson at last is feeling a little guilt. That’s some progress! And yes, go after her Hamson! Before it’s too late!

Mya and Pilith in Mordor – gives me shivers! They don’t deserve Sauron’s treatment. We know they escaped, though, to find Diamond and Nelly! But in whole, that’s the question…

Author's Response: Thanks for the review kitt :) hoped you like all the reading you have to do :P

Ah, so now Hamson’s aunt is on Nelly’s side. All that Nelly went through and yet Hamson acts so distant. I’d be most frustrated with the guy...! Kudos to Nelly for being patient.

Oh, so Gloria might be adopted? I wonder the story is behind that…

Rosie knows her son very well and has excellent instinct for when trouble is brewing. As painful as it is, I enjoy the sibling rivalry between Frodo and Elanor. I still believe they will grow up to be best friends -- eventually. I like that Elanor is not so saintly that she does not try to overhear Frodo’s punishment…

Elanor’s writing down her adventures is an excellent idea – just like her father! :)

‘’ “Talking about me?” he joked.

In fact, they were. ‘’

--Same thing happened to me once… Start talking about a fellow and he has the
disconcerting habit of popping up over your shoulder. Anyway, this makes me smile. Nelly had to instigate the conversation! That takes courage… I am curious how Hamson will handle this.

Eee! Pippin and Diamond eating together!!! And Pip feeds Faramir – awesome! Of course he’d know how to feed his son best. ;) I hope this means the schism in their marriage is on the mend.

Some reason, snuggling in a nook on Weathertop sounds inviting right now, even if it be in the snow! :)

I guess that Nelly’s swift departure was the easiest way to do it. But I am glad she at least talked to Pearl before she left!

I like that the whole Gamgee family got to play into the snow together. Elanor and Gloria’s adventure with the wolves brought back memories… I believe I fought snow wolves on more than one occasion, though usually it was an abominable snowman… ;)

I very much enjoyed this line -- “Elanor thought that this was because of all the orcs it had eaten. Although Elanor couldn’t understand why this was. For orcs were not very tasty.”

And this line I thought was interesting -- “Though she did not need sleep, she could stay up for the rest of time, time would pass quicker if she did sleep.” – A little bit sad but true, for the immortal…

That is what I call Determination! Nelly actually walked all the way to Hamson!! I can only hope he eventually sees just why…

I liked the horse’s commentary on Elanor’s bracelet. Such a sweet thing to do for her mother – Rosie does indeed deserve it!

So, Ivy’s magic works for bacon too!

Please tell me the Enterprise landed in Ivy’s forest… ;)

Aha, so it was Pippin’s turn to distract Maggot’s dogs. Explains why they were caught… :P

Yay! Normalcy has returned to Bree because the Pony Has Reopened!!! The girl’s nerves I can understand; but that’s something only practice can iron out. Anyway, she seems most suited for this job!

Mya’s coming was a definite plus – if she can carry Origo and Ivy, their journey to Radagast should speed up. But still, what a long walk!

Poor Pilith…!!! but at least he did not spill the beans; leave that up to Gollum.

If I were in Nelly’s place, I certainly would want to get out of Hobbiton for a while and collect myself. But to Bree…! Ah, I see her plan is not going to be a smooth one.

Thank you; can’t wait for more… ^_^

Author's Response: Maybe that was a little hint to one of my favorite films, the lights and all :) Mya can walk much faster then a curious little puppy can :)

Awwww, I’m very happy for Merry and Estella. Rosamunda’s right: they make an excellent couple.

Legolas and Gimli off on another adventure! Yay!

I think Mya and Ivy’s compromise of pretending not to see each other a clever one.

Don’t envy Faramir much – rebuilding Osgiliath – what a job!

Loved to see a continuation to Gloria and Elanor’s adventure… but I guess even Orcs must wait for lunch. :)

Sad and sweet bit between Odovacar and his father! But comforting.

I like this one: “Not that wasting time mattered to an elf. For they had a lot of it.”
And Frodo’s definition of an Elf is the best I’ve seen: “They’re like tall folk, only cleaner.” :D Poor Frodo, though; he wants so much to share what he’s seen but he’ll never be believed… Shall his aunt believe him, I wonder…

I guess meeting walking, talking trees is something that never gets old! Pippin and Merry lead unique lives – how many people can claim to have made acquaintance with so many Ents, in so many places?

Author's Response: Origo doesnt know that Mya and Ivy can acutally see each other.. Ivy and Mya re now secretly working together now :)
